EFQM Business Excellence Model

This is the most common business framework in Europe. Regardless of type, size, structure or maturity, the European Business Excellence Model EFQM is a strategic management tool, which helps businesses identify and manage their strengths and areas of improvement

The Business Excellence Model is used by the Organization and its Operational Units in a number of ways. Indicatively, it works as:
• Performance Recognition, Rewarding and European certification Tool
• Tool for measuring and evaluating the operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Guide to identify areas of improvement
• Basis for common ’’language’’ of designing action plans (i.e. business plan) and of the implementation guide (i.e. action approaches of business plan)
• Method of internal benchmarking between Operational Units (i.e. technical activities, commercial activities, etc.)
• Tool to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Operational Units
• Method of external benchmarking with other organizations

The levels of Certification of Excellence were created to reward result achievements and to motivate and encourage the systematic effort by enterprises, as well as a means of encouraging the systematic improvement of operational efficiency. At the same time, they provide a point of convergence between learning and education.
