An artistic adventure via technology at the OTE Museum of Telecommunications
For the second year running, our own Museum implements its innovative educational programme for school children groups and individual visitors, 5-10 years old, in cooperation with experienced artists. The 2nd Workshop draws inspiration the Museum’s exclusive telecommunications exhibits, which the children tour before creatively expressing themselves, to fully understand the long history of telecommunications. This year, the workshop is thematically richer, with the use of new materials, styles and techniques. In an attempt to connect technology with art, painting-pop art, clay, collage and trash art become “tools” in children’s hands to better understand telecommunications, while expressing their skills and having fun at the same time. Art workshop participation is free of charge.

Celebrating International Telecommunications & Museum Days
The OTE Museum of Telecommunications, participating in the celebration of both International Days: Telecommunications (17th May) and Museums (18th May), successfully organised a 3-day event dedicated to these two world days, expanding its opening hours to meet the specific needs. The International Council of Museums chose the theme “Museum and Memory” for the International Museum Day 2011. In this framework, the OTE Museum presented a fairytale in the form of an interactive theatrical game, while in one of the first TV studios in Greece, housed in the museum premises, there revived memories the 60s. Visitors were also able to watch the visualised milestones of Greek telecommunications. The OTE Museum organised a creative workshop on the OTE logo, experimenting with a variety of materials, for the OTE Group employees’ children. Specific guided tours were also organised for the visitors.
