We design schemes for specific groups
Pensioners' Scheme (65+)
A scheme designed for pensioners over 65, which concerns a concession on telephone bills for old people, valid since January 2005.
Students' Scheme (Student Pack)
A scheme designed for public University and Technological Education Institution students, concerning a concession on telephone bills for Internet access and long distance calls, valid since September 2004.
Free ADSL to university students with excellent academic performance
For the fourth consecutive year, OTE offered broadband connection to excelling undergraduate and graduate students, free of charge, through the DIODOS action, in particular, to the top five entering each department after entrance exams for the current year and to the top five students in every department of each year or semester of study, during the academic year 2007-2008.
1535 Public Health Line
OTE has created the most integrated voice portal, which, due to speech recognition technology, allows our fellow citizens to make and manage medical appointments at public hospitals. The line, which can be dialled nationwide at local toll charges and operates 24 hours-a-day, received 2,040,000 calls in 2008.

112 Emergency Line
Provides toll-free information to serve emergency needs via the 112 three-digit, European-wide number. We provide accessible products and services for sensitive groups
OTEALERT - at home, 24 hours a day/365 days a year
We offer a special service for people who may need to call for help in an emergency or require help and constant care. This enables them to make the most of today's communication service (intended for older, disabled customers etc.). 'OTEALERT' includes a smart handset with an illuminating push-button and a portable remote control connected to the telephone line of the calling party. By pushing the handset button, or the remote control button, this special handset forwards a call to the Alarm Service Centre. The device is available, free of charge.
OTEALERT - at the workplace, 24 hours a day/365 days a year
The service also meets specific customer needs, by providing them with protection and security at their place of work. The same applies as OTEALERT at home. The device is available, free of charge.
Special Telephone Line 18855, addressing people with hearing problems
The line has been operative since the beginning of 2000, via the OTE Call Centre providing service to people with hearing problems. The Call Centre operates on a daily 24-hour basis, nationwide, with local charging.
Telephone sets for people with hearing problems
OTE provides special handsets for people with hearing problems and textphones, which include a keypad and a small screen so that you can type what you want to say and also read what the person on the other end of the phone line is typing back to you.
The telephone sets are available at all OTE Shops.
Public Payphones for disabled people
Since 2000, we have installed 19000 public card payphones, which are also accessible to disabled people.

Embracing children
For six consecutive years, a substantial part of the revenues derived from OTE’s Christmas campaign has been donated to charitable organisations. In 2008, the amount of 250,000 euro, which was gathered from calls made during Christmas, New Year’s Day and Epiphany Day, was given to support the objectives of Charitable Organisations, namely ‘TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN’ Union, the Association for people with Neuromuscular Diseases MDA HELLAS, and the 'CHILD’S SMILE’ NGO.

Complaint Management System
OTE has established procedures regarding complaint management and monitoring, in particular, dispute of bills. Our customer reserves the right to ask for his bill to be checked, following a fixed procedure.

Safety on the Internet
OTE participates in the non-profit organisation Safenet (www.safenet.gr), which aims at promoting regulatory procedures for the safer use of the Internet and the protection of children from unsuitable content.
• OTE has developed and distributed a relevant service called ‘OTENET Security Kit,’ which offers complete protection for e-mails and computer, integrating Firewall, Anti-virus and Anti-spam applications. Furthermore, the service includes an enriched Parental Control application that provides customers with the capability to control, filter and block access to websites with unwanted content (e.g. violence, sex, weapons, drugs, etc), by setting the protection limit according to the child’s age.
