We support the work of Environmental Organizations OTE undertakes actions and supports initiatives and NGO work, in the direction of protecting the environment.

CALLISTO
An environmental organisation, which plans and implements programmes for the protection of the natural environment and the co-existence of man with wildlife. For the third consecutive year, OTE stands by the side of ‘Callisto.’ We support the voluntary forest protection programmes planned by ‘Callisto’ with the cooperation of competent bodies and the participation of volunteers, which in 2010 undertook the coordination of volunteer groups on the protection of the suburban forest of Seih Sou. At the same time, for the 2nd consecutive year we support the innovative programme on the genetic monitoring of the brown bear, initiated by ‘Callisto’ and OTE (placement of OTE poles) in 2009, at the Rodopi mountain range. This year, the programme is expanding with the implementation of the same action in Pindos, in the broader region of Valia Kalda.

Society for the Protection and Care of Wildlife
Within our cooperation with the Society, an action was organised for the release of hawks and other birds on Mount Parnitha, with the participation of OTE employees and their families.
HELLENIC SOCIETY ON THE PROTECTION OF NATURE (EEPF)
Non-government organisation that has been active since 1951 on the protection of the Greek natural environment.
We continue to support the actions of EEPF, specifically the environmental training & awareness programme: ‘Young Journalists for the Environment,’ which consists of an international network of environmental training, specialising in the propagation of environmental information. HELLENIC SOCIETY ON THE ENVIRONMENT & CULTURE
We supported financially the publication of the society’s magazine. Furthermore, in 2010 we continued our cooperation with the said society, supporting the 7th Panorama of Ecology Films titled ‘Parathira Ston Planiti Mas.’ This is the only festival for ecology films organised entirely by an environmental organisation, providing the Athenian public with a unique opportunity to watch high class Greek and foreign films dealing with hot and current environmental issues.
THE UNION FOR THE PROTECTION OF FORESTS IN ATHENS (FILODASIKI ENOSI ATHINON )
For the last years, OTE has been supporting the activities of the Filodasiki Enosi Athinon. Specifically, we contributed to the projects planned by the Organisation for 2009-2010, which include: guarding, caring and developing the Aesthetic Forest, the Botanical Garden and Seed beds around the Monastery of Kesariani, as well as the construction of an integrated network of piping for irrigating re-forested regions, as well as strengthening the pre-existing extensive fire-fighting network.
