Germanos S.A.
At the end of 2006, Cosmote acquired GERMANOS S.A. With 830 approximately stores, and presence in three South-Eastern European countries, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania, Germanos boasts the leading telecommunications distribution network in the region. The company’s two primary operations comprise the chain of stores and the consumer goods distribution network. The company’s consumer goods distribution network is one of the largest in Greece and Romania, with a market share that exceeds 30%.

AMC (Albania)
The OTE Group is present in Albania since 1996, through its subsidiary, AMC. Until August 2001, AMC was the sole mobile operator in the country. Today the company holds the leading position, in a market with three mobile operators. The company operates a 2G network based on the GSM 900 and DCS 1800

frequency bands, offering a significant geographical and population coverage. Pre-paid customers account for the majority of the total mobile market, as well as AMC’s subscriber base. As of December 2007, AMC offers WHAT’S UP services, which are widely popular amongst younger people. In 2008 the company launched a new pre-paid program, ΑΜCKarta and the AMC Flaxy service.

GLOBUL (Bulgaria)
In Bulgaria, Cosmote’s subsidiary, Globul, ranks second in terms of total subscribers. Globul owns one of the country’s three mobile telephony licenses and also one of the three 3G network (UMTS) licenses, as well as one fixed-line telephony license. Globul operates a 2G (GSM), a 2.5G (GPRS) and a 3G (UMTS, HSDPA) network. Globul’s 2G network covered almost the total of the population and geographical area, whereas its 3G network covers almost half of the population. During the period of 2007-2008 Globul launched the Globul Office Zone product (an integrated solution that allows for fixed and mobile telephony services through a single handset), Blackberry services and the Frog pre-paid telephony service, which addresses a specific market segment, interested in basic mobile telephony services at attractive rates , Talk to me”, “Notify about Me”.

 

Cosmote Romania (Romania)
Cosmote Romania, the third largest mobile GSM operator in Romania was established by RomTelecom in January 1999. On July 2005, Cosmote acquired 70% of the share capital of the company and changed its commercial name to Cosmote Romania. Cosmote Romania’s telecommunication network operates in the EGSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequency bands. The company continues to invest heavily in expanding, upgrading and increasing the capacity of its telecommunications network. Cosmote Romania offers a wide range of competitive packages, offering low rates for pre-paid users for on-net calls and attractive tariff plans for contract subscribers. Furthermore, Cosmote offers attractive packages that combine voice and SMS services both to contract subscribers and pre-paid users. In 2008 the company launched a new contract program, “All Inclusive” with free time for national, international calls and on-net communication and messaging.

Zapp (Romania)
Zapp was the first mobile operator of the Romanian market. The company launched
commercial operations in 1993. Today, it holds a CDMA license in the 450 MHz band
and a 3G license at 2100 MHz. Its 3G network currently covers 23 Romanian cities.
