Aiming to respond to the increased telecommunications needs of the Olympic Games, OTE Group implemented over 5500 projects to meet the needs of 15000 athletes and their escorts from 202 National Olympic Committees, as well as 21500 press and media representatives.

More precisely, OTE undertook the obligation to install and operate the necessary telecommunications infrastructure for the Olympic, Para-Olympic Games and the Sport Events, so that the following needs were met:

  • The provision of integrated telecommunications services
  • The international transmission of Broadcast signal
  • The telecommunication interconnection of IT systems in a single network for immediate release of the Games' results
Almost 80% of the telecommunications infrastructure remains in use, after the Games,
greatly upgrading the quality of the existing services for all of us
